During the early 1900s, many children from central European countries were suffering from hunger and starvation because of the “Blockade of Germany”. Eglantyne Jebb decided to do something to alleviate the problem and save the starving children, creating the Save the Children Fund. Nearly 100 years later, Eglantyne’s vision is still going strong. Today, over 50 counties have chapters of the Save the Children Federation. Their mission is to build lifelong positive changes in the lives of as many children as possible who are experiencing poverty and abuse.
