In 1976, inspired by a Georgia cooperative community, Millard and Linda Fuller started building simple, decent, and affordable homes for families in the most respectful and uplifting manner possible. Potential homeowners work side-by-side with a large corps of volunteers, and homes are then sold at no profit through interest-free, long-term mortgages. Those payments are used to build more homes. So far, Habitat for Humanity has built over 600,000 homes.
