What is CharitySelect's purpose?
Our purpose is to provide you with the option of driving significant, recurring charitable donations to your favorite charity. Ultimately, we measure our success by the dollar amount of charitable donations we create and the extent to which those contributions relieve rising social challenges.
Do the donations result in higher insurance prices?
No. These donations DO NOT result in higher insurance prices for you! In fact, many insurance carriers believe that individuals closely associated with charities and good works are better insurance risks. And since our independent insurance agency partners represent many insurance companies, you will see authentic competitive quotes for your insurance coverages and, at the same time, support your favorite charity.
Who is CharitySelect?
After a significant development period, CharitySelect was founded by experienced insurance industry executives who share a commitment to the long-term social value of charitable giving. CharitySelect has designed a business structure whereby an individual that chooses to purchase their insurance through an authorized CharitySelect independent insurance agency will be able to direct an initial and ongoing charitable donation to their favorite charity. CharitySelect’s leaders see the internet and social media as a means to rally positive change for both philanthropy and the insurance industry.
CharitySelect commenced operations on January 1, 2013 in Connecticut (Massachusetts soon to follow) and aspires to a national footprint offering a broad array of insurance products within seven years. CharitySelect's structure is one of extremely low overhead, operating over the internet and through social media, with the collective intellect of its employees and aligned business partners as its primary product. CharitySelect has formed special relationships with leading professional insurance agencies that share its values, its mission, and commit their expertise, relationships and infrastructure to the cause.
Can I deduct the donation that results from my purchase?
Even though your purchase leads directly to a donation to your favorite charity, the donation is made by your insurance agent, so you cannot deduct it from your personal taxes.
Will my charity-of-choice know that I generated my donation?
We will not notify charities which supporters request quotes and ultimately purchase policies through the CharitySelect program. However, you can always tell your favorite charity that you purchased your policy through the CharitySelect program and designated them as your charity of choice.
What type of insurance can I buy through the CharitySelect program?
Right now, the CharitySelect program covers personal and commercial property-casualty insurance, so you can buy automobile and homeowner’s insurance for yourself or your business.
Can my business buy commercial insurance through the CharitySelect program?
Yes. You can purchase commercial insurance through the CharitySelect program. Commercial insurance purchases and donations are described under the Commercial Donation Standards.
Does CharitySelect sell insurance?
No. We work with a high quality network of independent agents to coordinate your policy purchases with charitable donations, but CharitySelect does not sell insurance.
Who is Einstein Tweets?
Einstein Tweets is the bluebird pictured in the CharitySelect logo. He is CharitySelect’s Vice President of Communications. He works to spread the good word of CharitySelect.
